Organ & Tissue Donations

2015 Donate Life Ceremony Photos

Every day someone is once again able to breathe, laugh, jump, see, play, dance, and love due to the generosity of those who choose to donate their blood, tissue, eyes or organs. At Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), our ability to save a life can rely on the success of our transplant programs and community partners. Visit our Wall of Heroes website to view donor and recipient stories.

HCMC's Memorial Blood Center Drive

If not personally in need, at some point we will all know a friend, neighbor, family member, or co-worker who needs a blood transfusion. In fact, 1 out of 3 people will need blood in their lifetime. From natural disasters to unforeseen catastrophes, emergency hospital procedures to life-long battles with chronic diseases such as sickle cell, the demand for blood is constant. The supply is not. Hennepin County Medical Center hosts blood drives every 57 days at its hospital location 701 Park Avenue, Minneapolis. Find your memorial blood center location.
