The Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Team (SCANT) at Hennepin County Medical Center is a multi-disciplinary, interdepartmental team of professionals from HCMC, including pediatricians, social workers, nurses, as well as individuals from collaborating agencies including the Minneapolis Police Department, Hennepin County Child Protection, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, St. Joseph’s Home for Children, CornerHouse, and MVNA.
The Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Team (SCANT) at Hennepin County Medical Center is a multi-disciplinary team committed to an effective systems’ response to child maltreatment. Through education, case presentation, and discussion, SCANT envisions a collaborative approach to appropriate interventions for vulnerable children and youth.
Child Maltreatment Physician Consult Team
The Child Maltreatment Physician Consult Team (CMPCT) provides consultation services for cases of known or suspected child abuse and neglect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Consultations may take place over the telephone or in person. Many contacts require on-site consultation in a timely manner. Five pediatricians compose the CMPCT, including Dr. Nancy Harper, Dr. Marjorie Hogan, Dr. Sarah Lucken, Dr. Linda Thompson, Dr. Scott Velders.
